Wolno (Universal, 2007)

(Editor) I agree with everything in this note except that "Wolno" is album kept in jazz-rock stylistics. It is definitely not! It is ECM influenced in style: smooth, subdued, quiet. Certainly it lacks intensity of best ECM recordings but makes up with charm, unpretentiousness and simplicity. Pure pleasure to listen!

Marek Napiórkowski, born 27.10.1969, is a Polish jazz/jazz-rock guitarist and composer. As a session musician and band member he recorded more than 100 albums (!) with various performers such as Pat Metheny, Mino Cinelu, Richard Bona, Dhafer Youssef, Gregoir Maret, Adam Holzman, Sugar Blue, Anna Maria Jopek, Tomasz Stanko, Henryk Minkiewicz, Urszula Dudziak, Ewa Bem, Dorota Miskiewicz, Klaus Doldinger (Passport), Wojciech Karolak, Janusz Muniak, Tomasz Szukalski, Krzysztof Scieranski, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski... and so on.

He issued his own two solo albums in jazz-rock stylistics (in Universal Music Polska label). His first album NAP saw the light of the day at the dawn of June 2005. Guest musicians who played on it included Leszek Mozdzer, Anna Maria Jopek and Henryk Miskiewicz.
