"Almost After" is another one of Krzysztof Herdzin's proposals, which resembles his album "Chopin" in many respects. "Almost After" proves why Herdzin is so fond of Chopin's delicate themes. Herdzin's style is naturally very subtle and bright, rich in ornaments and carefully devised harmonic changes. This is by no means black music. It is an aristocratic, sublime European jazz, perhaps slightly too sweet at times, but it is to be forgiven considering the vast amount of fineness. "For Antonio"- a samba - is a memorable one. Should this be treated as a dedication, or a "thank you" for inspiration? Had I listened to the track not knowing who the author was, I could be fooled into thinking the samba was one of Jobim's masterpieces.
